GIRLS STORIES:
Zho Li Zhen, age 12, and Zho Li Hua, age 9
Zho Li Zhen and Zho Li Hua are sisters. When their father, Zho Yong Jing, heard that Girls Global Education Fund had visited Na Ma Primary School on the previous day, he and his two daughters made the two-hour walk to Na Ma School from their neighboring village, in the hope of meeting with GGEF representatives. Zho Yong Jing explained that his daughters are both in second grade, while his two sons are in first grade and sixth grade. After he pays the school fees, the family has very little income left. When asked what would happen if he doesn’t have enough money for the upcoming school year, he said he will have to pull one of his children out of school. Both of his daughters will be sponsored by Girls Global Education Fund this year.
